“I am a proud Ngemba, Wayilwan, Paakantyi Maraura and Yuwaalaraay man from Brewarrina NSW, which is home to the oldest man-made structure in the world, the Brewarrina Fish Traps (Baiame’s Ngunnhu). My people have been engineering for thousands of years, which is why I chose to enter this industry. ‘Giidjaa’ means ‘little black ant’ in my traditional Aboriginal language. This name compliments our business as we work in building/constructing tunnels; just like ants”.
